Martin, I agree with everything you said about the contrast between Biden and Trump.
However, I think there are some disconnects between reality and what supposed statistics say about the economy, which to me is the driving force behind the anti-Biden rhetoric.
First of all, the average American citizen is hurting financially. The Pandemic did a number on the economy. Inflation rose precipitously. But who was most affected -- the average consumer. However, we see now that the Stock Market has rebounded; there are jobs available; and the economy is growing again. Ok, the rich are getting richer thanks to the fact that they took advantage of the Pandemic -- the prices of goods went way up -- for instance at the local grocery, they increased the price to the point where they have increased not maintained their profit margin. sometimes prices doubling what they were -- now inflation hasn't justified that. Look at the prices for haircuts. They in fact have doubled. Are you telling me that inflation justifies that, not by a long shot! And housing, homes, rent, way up. what is going on? Is this Biden's fault? No, of course not. He was trying to help us with Build Back Better, but the party of the rich and more corrupt stonewalled much of this plan.
The reality is that poverty is driving people away from Biden, as well as other irritants like immigration.
I myself think we need a new Democratic candidate; at the very least, let's have some primaries. I watched the little publicized debate on Newsnation last night with Dean Phillips, Marianne Williamson, and Cenk Ughur. They had some things to say that we need to hear. I fear if Biden is the candidate, it might give us Trump.
You think things are bad now ...
